Childhood Fitness & Nutrition

The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) and its member Leagues have a long history of commitment to improving the health and wellness of children. It was through this lens that, in the early 2000s, The Junior League took notice of the increasing prevalence and urgency of the childhood obesity epidemic in their communities.  Recognizing that obesity can impact a child’s mental and physical health, with implications for their education, social lives, and ultimate success.

Childhood Fitness and Nutrition is geared towards improving the health and wellness of children. Over the past few years, there has been a noticeable increase in childhood obesity, reduced outdoor socialization, and a decline in overall wellness. These changes have negatively affected children’s mental and physical health and may have lasting implications for their education, social development, and long-term success.
